Directive 2025-01 — Body-Worn Camera Usage Policy

Purpose:
To establish uniform expectations for the use of body-worn cameras (BWC) by all LSMP personnel and contractors during the performance of their duties.

Policy:
Effective immediately, all LSMP personnel—including employees and independent contractors—are required to wear and activate a body-worn camera during every active duty assignment, including security posts, funeral escorts, and client interactions.

Procedure:

• Cameras shall remain powered on and recording for the entire duration of duty.

• Footage may not be deleted, edited, or shared outside LSMP authorization.

• Equipment issues or malfunctions must be reported to a Supervisor or the Director immediately.

• At the end of each shift, devices will be secured and footage uploaded or stored as directed.

• Any intentional tampering or failure to record will result in disciplinary action or termination.

Directive 2025-02 — Contractor Vehicle Approval & Insurance Requirements

Purpose:
Clarify the approval process and insurance requirements for independent contractors using personal vehicles for LSMP Funeral Escort operations.

Policy:
All contractors must receive written approval from the Director before using a personal vehicle for official assignments. LSMP-owned vehicles remain the primary vehicles.

Procedure:

• Submit proof of driver’s license, registration, and insurance.

• Director inspects the vehicle for safety and reliability.

• Approved vehicles are documented in the contractor’s file.

• LSMP assumes no responsibility for contractor-owned vehicle accidents or damages.

Directive 2025-03 — Attendance & Call-Out Procedure

To reinforce LSMP’s attendance and call-out standards ensuring operational readiness.

Policy:
All personnel must report on time and in uniform. Those unable to report must follow LSMP’s call-out procedures.

Procedure:

• Notify your Supervisor at least four (4) hours prior to shift.

• State reason for absence and return date.

• Unreported absences = no-call/no-show.

• Three no-call/no-shows = job abandonment and termination.

Directive 2025-04 — Uniform & Appearance Enforcement

Purpose:
Ensure all LSMP personnel maintain a professional and uniform appearance.

Policy:
Personnel must report in clean, approved LSMP uniform and maintain grooming standards.

Procedure:

• Funeral Escort: White/black LSMP polo, black pants, black footwear.

• Security Division: Black/dark gray LSMP polo, black/khaki tactical pants, black footwear.

• Hair neat, facial hair trimmed, tattoos non-offensive.

• Random uniform inspections allowed.

• Violations: verbal warning → written warning → suspension/removal.

Directive 2025-05 — Vehicle Assignment & Care
